i work in technology, specifically surrounding supporting enterprise software.

this is bad.

this is death knell bad.

this is "end of life" for a product bad.

tumblr has basically said: this website is not a revenue vehicle, and thus, it may perish naturally. we won't pull support from it. we won't force people to move off of projects surrounding it. but we will do the bare minimum moving forward to maintain it's existence and one day, when no one else wants to take responsibility for the decaying infrastructure and literally endless backlog of defects and code rewrites, the website will sunset.

you should start building a different online community today if you want one. there are options. or, hell, if you're savvy enough, you could start your own and open source it.

Ok so I wrote something inspired by this artwork - I hope you all enjoy! (I also post solely on my phone so sorry if the formatting is off)

‘I wish I had a fan’ Sophie thought as more sweat beaded on her forehead.


Under the afternoon sun in the blazing summer heat the market was alive with more people than Sophie had seen in any town across China. People in all fashions from nobleman in etched robes with bowing cranes or roaring rivers across them, to men dressed in leopard skin and jade circulets, to the commoner in his simple hemp cloth, bustled to and fro. Exotic things were all about her. Goblets from the Byzantine empire, Carpets displaying rich embroidery, and silverware from the far east. As Sophie passed another stall, pine nuts and ginseng from beneath the overhanging cloth roof were thrust into her face.

After screaming at my friend (and debating back and forth with myself about sharing some more personal things) and asking if it was ok to post this and got approval, I have decided to share what I’ve been working on for several years on and off.

Here is one of my babies- my boys- my darling Dominicus one of the focal points in my book that’s given a tentative title called “Reckoning of flowers.”

For the brief of it, the story is set in a place where two worlds have collided- quite literally. The mortal world as we know it is dying, blasted to hell in ice and cold with humanity on the decline since this large massive world above blotted out the sun and stars. It’s complex and I don’t want to reveal anymore then what I have but here is Dominicus! The main male character who lives in that strange world above the mortals, where creatures such as himself- Imbrians- exist. They also have their own problems and worries since they are now stuck above this dying mortal planet- and their own Lord/King is missing….

Dominicus is a precious large cinnamon roll who loves his flower garden and is trying to stay out of the political maelstrom that is his world- but it’s difficult when political talks can actually end in someone’s soul being devoured.

My dear friend https://neurocosmic.crd.co/ Cosmic created the art we see here (I have to say it’s old or he will skin me) and I can’t be more thankful to him for helping me take the character in my head and putting them to paper (I can’t draw as well as I write- so writing is the only way I can make them come to life. I’m a very out of shape artist)
